Summer Makeover For Interior Decor
This summer, you can make your home look and feel cool and lighter. Here are a few to help you beat the heat. Remove all heavy carpets and area rugs. Get rid off heavy and formal drapes and opt for light dhurries and linen drapes, sheer curtains or bamboo blinds. Lace, flowery prints and paisley motifs look great in summer.
Add lots of white if you can. White walls, accessories, crockery and bedlinen make the home look and feel cool. Add small splashes of color to avoid drabness and monotony. pastel colors are great as the temperature soars. light pinks, baby blue, peach, white and off whites give your home a refreshing, relaxed ambiance.
Place light furniture all over the house. If you have a verandah, patio or garden, invest in some attractive wicker, cane and or aromatic oils in bamboo furniture. Paint it white for a cool and casual look. Freshly cut flowers and green as well as flowering plants impart a fresh look indoors. Invest in pretty planters, urils and cut glass crystal vases.
Fresh floral prints and motifs on upholstery and bed lonin look cool and in summer. Sea shells give the home a lovely summery feel. Place shells and pebbles in long glass jars. Blows of fresh fruit of even artificial ones placed on the dining table or coffee table add to the feel of summer. Pretty bamboo table mats and floral printed table linen look very nice in summer.
Add a small fountain if you can. The sound of running water is soothing and calming. Burn some incense or aromatic oils in the evenings to create a relaxed ambiance at home. Old fashioned earthen pitchers with cool water can be placed in the dining area, by your bed side and in the kitchen.
