New Tech Course Launched
A Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management (PGDITM ) for students who aspire to be in IT and ITES-related professions has been launched by the All India Management Association (AIMA) and HCL Infosystems. The course will be offered from July 2008 academic session at AIMA’s study centers and HCL’s career development centers across the country. The eligiblity for the course is a graduate degree from any recognized university and MAT scores as per AIMA norms.
The selection procedure requires that the candidate be MAT qualified. ” All students seeking admission should appear for MAT. For MAT bulletien and application form, students have to send a demand draft of Rs 790 in favour of All India Managament Association CME. The fee for the course comprising four modules is Rs 30,000 for each module.
The aim of the course is to train students to have an integrative approach towards engineering and management. ” Companies are going through vast changes to improve their competitive position and information technology is a primary enabler of those changes. Professionals need to have a good understanding of information technology and its implications to succeed. The increasingly powerful role of IT in business has created a tremendous need for managers trained in IT management.
The duration of the course is 2 years. The students will have to finish a project. they will get 30 hours practical training in HCL centers. We have to realised that hands-on training is an important component in any technical course. The venture will also ensure that students from the institute are absorbed by HCL.
